About Diane Harvie

Diane Harvie, the author of Understanding Autism, is the mother of two children on the spectrum and has been researching autism for the past decade. She has a Diploma in Autism Awareness and has done fundraising for Autism Charities since her children were diagnosed.

Her aim is to assist parents and give them coping strategies and techniques that will help them understand their child’s needs and create a better parent-child relationship.

Both of Diane’s children were diagnosed with Autism, one at the age of 3 and one at 13, and she has made it her mission to support them to the best of her ability.

Diane realised that her research and experience in raising children with autism put her in a unique position to help other autistic families. She is committed to working with parents to confront the challenges that having a child on the spectrum can pose, increasing awareness and debunking common autistic myths through her writing.
